Reminder About Rain Delays/Rain Outs

Rain delays or canceled practice due to weather will be called within 30 minutes of the start of practice. You will be notified of a cancelation or delay by on the Facebook Group and SwimTopia (please have the app downloaded, logged in, and notifications turned on). If you haven't heard anything, assume there is still practice.

NWAL Rules About Rain/Thunder
- Swimming competition shall be suspended immediately when thunder is heard, or lightning is visible.

-The meet shall be suspended until 15 minutes after the last thunder was heard or the last lightning was sighted. Note that local facility rules and/or pool management rules regarding thunderstorm suspension, should they exist, take precedence over NWAL rules.

- When a meet is suspended because of lightning and/or thunder, the pool area shall be cleared immediately of all participants, officials, and spectators.

Mariner Pool Rules State

- When lightning is spotted within 10 miles, the pool area shall be cleared immediately of all participants, officials, and spectators. (We use Weatherbug to check this.)

- The meet/practice shall be suspended until 30 minutes after the last thunder was heard or the last lightning was sighted, or until lightning has moved outside of the 10 mile radius.
