Meets: What to Expect
Here's what to expect at a swim meet:
Order of Operations When Arriving
1. Please Circle In (aka check in) at the circle in table before 7am. This lets officials know you are here and will be competing. Proceed to the team tents to get your event numbers.
2. 10 and Under Swimmers: Hang out at your team tents. Your Lane Parent will help you get to your events on time (for home meets, away meet location will depend on where we are swimming).Â
3. Mariners Warm Up is at 7:15 for home meets.
5. Pep Rally at 7:45 for home meets in the front, just outside the pool deck.
Team Tents
Please look for the blue tents set up in the back. There is a 6 and Under Tent, 7 & 8 Tent, and a 9 & 10 Tent. Team tents are a great way for our swimmers to get to know each other. Swimmers are welcome to hang out in the Team Tents with other swimmers. Often lane parents bring crafts or games for them to do. Lane Parents will make sure your swimmers are at the ready bench in time for their events.
Team Set Up
For home meets Mariners will set up in the back near concessions/playground. Visiting team will set up in the front near the tennis courts. You are welcome to bring your own tent, chairs etc. to the meet. Please check the Facebook Group for a handy list.
For away meets the hosting team will usually send a map or description of where we should set up. This will be sent out to parents in our weekly newsletter.
Playground
Our coaches encourage our swimmers NOT to play on the playground. They want them to use all their energy in their events, not on the monkey bars.
No swimmers should be on the sand volleyball court or tennis courts at any time.
Concessions
Our awesome home meet concessions will continue this season. Purchasing concessions helps put money back into the team fund.
Mariners T-Shirts and Merch
T-shirts, tank tops, hats, visors, decals, stickers, yard signs, hoodies, temporary tattoos and silicone swim caps can all be purchased from home meet concessions during the meet.
