5 pm all jobs for meets will open but Divisionals & End of Year Party
To address some concerns....
I know everyone is overwhelmed with 10 slots of duties. I promise, it sounds like more than it is. There are multiple shifts per meet. You can see the amount of work it requires to make a swim meet run efficiently. Like any organization... there are always those that end up doing more, and we are trying to spread the responsibilities across the entire team fairly. We all have children. Most work. Many of us on our team work Saturdays. We all have responsibilities and places to be and things to do. Meets we will miss. Trust me. I get it.
If you have an issue or a problem come and talk to me and we will figure out how to make this work for you. Many reached out to me before swim began and asked/notified me of their differences and we have found a way for them to contribute fairly, that works for them.
Please remember, we are a swim FAMILY... we help each other. There are many opportunities for different circumstances we all have. Friday nights, before and after meet sets ups and take downs, slicing and dicing, jobs where you only check on something every 30 minutes... There is something for everyone. We have Divisionals and an end of year party where you can help as well.
However, every year, this is my 6th year, as a part of this team, I have seen the same occurrence happen. The same people, like in any organization, end up stepping up and carrying a majority of the load. We all need to help out and do a little each meet to avoid this. This way EVERYONE has a pleasant experience. We want all of you to love our team as much as we do. We all need each other.
We had more swimmer families last season to divide and conquer. We are a parent volunteer organization. Many hands make light work, many hands do more than their fair share. We are trying to help make it understood that there is always something to be done and someone we can help support. We are so thankful for you being a part of our team. Again, talk to me and I will help you figure it out.
I have managed to meet my volunteer hours EVERY year. Beginning with a four year old, and a baby. The next year, a 5 year old, a toddler, and about to pop with twins. Followed by a year with a 6 year old, a 3 year old, and two babies.... Often, my husband was out of town. You get what I am saying. It is doable. We, your swim family, will help you make it work. I understand. We aren't here to torture you or make you feel overwhelmed. This is a team of all different types of families at different seasons in life and different circumstances and responsibilities outside of swim. We have a heart and you are a part of it now.
Your jobs will open at 5pm and you can sign up! Thank you for your willingness to help out and make a fun season run smoothly! We can do this together. It's going to be so fun and you will create bonds with friends you didn't even have! Get excited!
Love, Jesse The Volunteer Coordinator
